In addition, under the FIT panels there is a special SOUNDCONTROL 200 layer that provides a high level of roof sound insulation, improving comfort inside the building. Depending on individual arrangements, the SOLROOF system can also be expanded with additional features tailored to your needs.

Our integrated photovoltaic roof SOLROOF can be installed not only on single-family homes, but also on multi-unit tenement buildings, provided structural requirements are met and the roof pitch is at least 9 degrees. This is why SOLROOF can also be a good fit for carports and garages. Installation on heritage-protected buildings depends on the decision of the heritage conservator, who sets the specific requirements that must be met for historic properties. SOLROOF is based on traditional sheet-metal roofing installed with a so-called standing-seam/snap-lock “click” system, which sets it apart from more futuristic-looking solutions of this kind. That’s exactly why the SOLROOF system helps preserve a cohesive form and an aesthetically consistent roof surface – often a key starting point in discussions with a heritage conservator.

The SOLROOF roof is installed on openwork roof decking, which ensures ventilation of the roof slope. In addition, it features a ventilated AIR ridge cap with factory perforation, enabling better airflow. The SOLROOF system heats up only to a limited extent and does not cause heat to transfer into the building through the successive layers of the roof covering.
We use high-quality optimizers from a trusted manufacturer, SolarEdge. Their role is to manage the operation of the panels, helping maintain safe voltage and temperature across the system. The optimizers are installed on a ventilated rail along the roof edge.
We have also obtained a number of additional certificates for SOLROOF panels in fire safety testing. These include BROOF (t4) — the highest roof fire resistance rating in Europe. BROOF (t4) is the most rigorous and comprehensive test conducted in Europe, as well as BROOF (T1) from CERTBUD, under which our panels were classified as an “element that does not spread fire.”

SOLROOF system panels have undergone rigorous testing at the Fraunhofer Institute, and our production line has also been certified. The panel tests were carried out by the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE – part of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Europe’s largest independent research organization.
The organization specializes in advanced testing of modern technologies, with a strong focus on the photovoltaics sector. Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft brings together as many as 66 German research institutes and is recognized as an authority in energy innovation.
What does this mean for SOLROOF customers?
1. Hail resistance — The SOLROOF roof effectively protects your home from hail. In a specialized test, the modules were struck with ice balls up to 25 mm in diameter, fired at a speed of 23 m/s (83 km/h).
2. Resistance to moisture and condensation — SOLROOF passed a key durability test confirming resistance to prolonged exposure to high heat and humidity: 1,000 hours at 85°C and 85% relative humidity.
3. Overheating resistance – SOLROOF passed a hot-spot endurance test, i.e., resistance to localized overheating and potential self-ignition, which can affect module lifespan and safety.
4. Resistance to extreme temperatures – SOLROOF panels successfully passed 200 test cycles in extreme temperatures from -40°C to 85°C, in accordance with IEC 61215.
5. Durability under icing conditions – The panels underwent a demanding test involving 10 temperature cycles from -40°C to 85°C at high humidity (85%).

SOLROOF panels have passed hail impact tests, meeting European requirements not only for SIA 261 – class HW4, but also for IEC 61215-2.
To comply with IEC 61215-2, a product must withstand hail impact testing without damage, using hailstones traveling at a speed of at least 30.7 m/s, with a diameter of 45 mm and a mass of 42.9 g. SOLROOF’s integrated photovoltaic panels have successfully maintained durability at speeds of up to 41 m/s.
In the event of roof damage, replacement can be carried out by our authorized team. What’s more, even a damaged panel does not compromise the roof’s watertightness, so your home remains protected until the service team arrives.
