What does this mean for SOLROOF customers?
1️⃣ Hail resistance – SOLROOF roof effectively protects your home from hail! In specialized testing, the modules were subjected to impacts from ice balls with diameters up to 25 mm, fired at speeds of 23 m/s (83 km/h).
2️⃣ Moisture and condensation resistance – SOLROOF passed a crucial durability test, confirming resistance to prolonged exposure to high temperature and humidity: 1,000 hours at 85°C with 85% relative humidity.
3️⃣ Overheating resistance – SOLROOF passed the durability test for hot spots, which are localized overheating and spontaneous combustion that can affect module lifespan and safety.
4️⃣ Extreme temperature resistance – SOLROOF panels successfully passed 200 test cycles under extreme temperature conditions from -40°C to 85°C, in accordance with IEC 61215 standard.
5️⃣ Durability under icing conditions – The panels underwent demanding testing involving 10 cycles of varying temperatures from -40°C to 85°C at high humidity (85%).
Panel testing was conducted by the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE – part of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Europe’s largest independent research institution. The organization specializes in advanced testing of modern technologies, with particular focus on the photovoltaic sector. Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft comprises 66 German scientific research institutes, representing an authority in the field of energy innovation.
