The FIT panel is a steel roof covering that complements the FIT VOLT panels, creating a coherent and tight surface. Its appearance resembles traditional roofs with alternating sheet arrangements, but it is made using modern mounting technologies and XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel, characterized by a low carbon footprint and high durability. FIT steel panels provide a durable and aesthetic complement to the roof surface, guaranteeing its tightness and resistance.

INTEGRATED FIT VOLT PANEL

(active part)

The integrated FIT VOLT panel is the basic element of the SOLROOF system – it combines the function of roof covering and photovoltaic panel. Thanks to the use of monocrystalline PERC cells combined with a steel base in glass-steel technology, the panel is tight, durable, and resistant to changing weather conditions. FIT VOLT is a modern solution that enables energy production from sunlight without the need to install traditional PV modules.

FLASHING

(inactive part)

Flashing in the SOLROOF system is responsible for the tightness, safety, durability, and aesthetics of the roof. The system solution guarantees perfect color and installation matching. These elements include, among others, VOLT windbreak, VOLT ventilated ridge, VOLT cable channel, and VOLT optimizer guide. Each of them performs a specific structural function – protecting the roof against wind and moisture, providing roof ventilation, as well as aesthetic finishing of the whole. These trims are a dedicated solution for the SOLROOF roof, guaranteeing its durability and consistent appearance.

SOLAREDGE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS

(active part)

SolarEdge electrical components are responsible for the production and management of electrical energy. They include power optimizers and inverter, which work with FIT VOLT panels, ensuring maximum efficiency of the entire installation and safety. Optimizers control the operation of panels, minimizing losses caused by shading or dirt, while the inverter converts direct current into alternating current. Thanks to the applied technologies, SolarEdge components guarantee high safety, efficiency, and full control over the operation of the SOLROOF photovoltaic roof.

SOLROOF with Renowned VDE Certification

SOLROOF roof panels have undergone rigorous testing at the renowned Fraunhofer Institute, obtaining VDE certification. Their resistance to hail up to 25 mm in diameter, extreme temperatures from -40°C to 85°C, high humidity, and the risk of overheating has been confirmed. As a result, SOLROOF guarantees durability and safety even in the most challenging weather conditions.

Design and Quoting

The roof design process is intuitive and based on a 3D model in the ROOF3D software. You can enter dimensions, roof axis orientation, and the exact location using an interactive Google map. Contract signing and delivery to site

Once you approve the quote, we move into delivery. At this stage, we review the site conditions and plan safe transport and unloading. The SOLROOF system is a modular solution available “off the shelf” – delivery of the components can take 10 days.

Photovoltaic roof installation

Your SOLROOF roof is installed by a qualified, authorized roofing team. Thanks to the installation technology, the process runs smoothly and is not noticeably longer than installing a standard roofing system.

Grid connection

Your safety matters to us. The system is connected to the grid by SOLROOF specialists who hold the required certifications to commission the inverter.

Handover of documentation and training

After the installation is complete, you will receive full documentation from us, reviewed and approved by our specialists.

What does the SOLROOF system consist of? What will I get when I purchase your solution?

By choosing SOLROOF, you get a complete BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) system — an innovative roof integrated with photovoltaics. It includes:
– FIT roof panels (non-active section),
– FIT VOLT photovoltaic panels (active section),
– Electrical components – optimizers, inverter, and wiring,
– Dedicated sheet-metal flashings,
– Roofing accessories required for a complete installation,
– Optionally – professional installation carried out by authorized teams, as well as a steel gutter system.
In addition, under the FIT panels there is a special SOUNDCONTROL 200 layer that provides a high level of roof sound insulation, improving comfort inside the building. Depending on individual arrangements, the SOLROOF system can also be expanded with additional features tailored to your needs.

What is the VDE certificate? What does it mean for the Customer?

SOLROOF system panels have undergone rigorous testing at the Fraunhofer Institute, and our production line has also been certified. The panel tests were carried out by the renowned Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE – part of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Europe’s largest independent research organization.
The organization specializes in advanced testing of modern technologies, with a strong focus on the photovoltaics sector. Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft brings together as many as 66 German research institutes and is recognized as an authority in energy innovation.
What does this mean for SOLROOF customers?
1. Hail resistance — The SOLROOF roof effectively protects your home from hail. In a specialized test, the modules were struck with ice balls up to 25 mm in diameter, fired at a speed of 23 m/s (83 km/h).
2. Resistance to moisture and condensation — SOLROOF passed a key durability test confirming resistance to prolonged exposure to high heat and humidity: 1,000 hours at 85°C and 85% relative humidity.
3. Overheating resistance – SOLROOF passed a hot-spot endurance test, i.e., resistance to localized overheating and potential self-ignition, which can affect module lifespan and safety.
4. Resistance to extreme temperatures – SOLROOF panels successfully passed 200 test cycles in extreme temperatures from -40°C to 85°C, in accordance with IEC 61215.
5. Durability under icing conditions – The panels underwent a demanding test involving 10 temperature cycles from -40°C to 85°C at high humidity (85%).

Is SOLROOF installation possible on buildings that can be considered historic, old/very old, and listed as protected heritage sites?

Our integrated photovoltaic roof SOLROOF can be installed not only on single-family homes, but also on multi-unit tenement buildings, provided structural requirements are met and the roof pitch is at least 9 degrees. This is why SOLROOF can also be a good fit for carports and garages. Installation on heritage-protected buildings depends on the decision of the heritage conservator, who sets the specific requirements that must be met for historic properties. SOLROOF is based on traditional sheet-metal roofing installed with a so-called standing-seam/snap-lock “click” system, which sets it apart from more futuristic-looking solutions of this kind. That’s exactly why the SOLROOF system helps preserve a cohesive form and an aesthetically consistent roof surface – often a key starting point in discussions with a heritage conservator.

What is the price per m2 of the roof or per 1kWp?


When you purchase the SOLROOF system, you receive a complete BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) solution – an integrated photovoltaic roof that combines:
– FIT roof panels (inactive part),
– FIT VOLT photovoltaic panels (active part),
– Electrical components – optimizers, inverter, and wiring,
– Dedicated sheet-metal flashings,
– Roofing accessories required for a complete installation,

How do the panels deal with overheating? How did you solve the cooling issue?

The SOLROOF roof is installed on openwork roof decking, which ensures ventilation of the roof slope. In addition, it features a ventilated AIR ridge cap with factory perforation, enabling better airflow. The SOLROOF system heats up only to a limited extent and does not cause heat to transfer into the building through the successive layers of the roof covering.
We use high-quality optimizers from a trusted manufacturer, SolarEdge. Their role is to manage the operation of the panels, helping maintain safe voltage and temperature across the system. The optimizers are installed on a ventilated rail along the roof edge.
We have also obtained a number of additional certificates for SOLROOF panels in fire safety testing. These include BROOF (t4) — the highest roof fire resistance rating in Europe. BROOF (t4) is the most rigorous and comprehensive test conducted in Europe, as well as BROOF (T1) from CERTBUD, under which our panels were classified as an “element that does not spread fire.”

Are SOLROOF panels hail-resistant?

SOLROOF panels have passed hail impact tests, meeting European requirements not only for SIA 261 – class HW4, but also for IEC 61215-2.
To comply with IEC 61215-2, a product must withstand hail impact testing without damage, using hailstones traveling at a speed of at least 30.7 m/s, with a diameter of 45 mm and a mass of 42.9 g. SOLROOF’s integrated photovoltaic panels have successfully maintained durability at speeds of up to 41 m/s.
In the event of roof damage, replacement can be carried out by our authorized team. What’s more, even a damaged panel does not compromise the roof’s watertightness, so your home remains protected until the service team arrives.
